The Downtown Spruce Up Continues!

If youโ€™ve taken a stroll downtown lately, you might have noticed things looking a whole lot brighter. Thatโ€™s all thanks to the special people in our community who consistently go above and beyond to make Tillamook County a truly wonderful place to be! Because of their hard work and dedication, downtown is shining for the summer ahead, perfectly combining fresh blooms with a beautiful touch of red, white, and blue.

Our sidewalks got a fantastic head start this early spring thanks to two local high school seniors, Damion and Vincent, who power-washed the sidewalks for their Senior Project. Building on that momentum, Terry Phillips and his incredible crew have been working to clean up downtown Tillamookโ€™s sidewalks along 101, with even more clean-up work happening this very week. We owe a massive thank you to Terry and his team for their dedication to keeping downtown looking nice!

Beyond the clean-up, you may have also noticed a beautiful wave of patriotic flair popping up around town. We want to send a special shout out to the Grinch Gang for hanging the wonderful fan flags that are bringing a patriotic energy to our streets just in time for the upcoming summer festivities.

The downtown transformation doesn’t stop there. Our flower pots are officially getting a fresh makeover with beautiful new flowers from Penny, and they will stay hydrated and thriving all season long with the helping hand of Wendy.

If you want to add some color and a pop of summer vibes to your block, the Flower Pot Program is the absolute perfect way to add a splash of color to our sidewalks without any of the heavy lifting. When you sponsor a pot, the Chamber handles absolutely everything, from the initial planting to the weekly watering and ongoing maintenance all season long.

The best part? Anyone can participate! As a program of the Tillamook Chamber Foundation, this is open to everyone, you don’t need to own a downtown business to sponsor a pot. Whether you are a resident, a local family, or an organization, you can contribute a small investment to help beautify a corner of our community.

Ready to help Tillamook bloom? To learn more about the Flower Pot Program or to secure your sponsored pot before they are all claimed, reach out to Meg at the Chamber HQ or drop her an email at meg@tillamookchamber.org.ย

Saturday, June 27th: The 69th Annual June Dairy Parade

We are capping off this incredible month with the crown jewel of our community traditions: the 69th Annual June Dairy Parade! For nearly seven decades, this parade has been the ultimate celebration of Tillamook’s rich heritage, and this year promises to be an absolute blast.

In honor of the historic 250th Birthday of America, this year’s parade theme is “Stars, Stripes, and Dairy Delights!” Expect a spectacular, patriotic showcase of marching bands, elaborate community floats, vintage tractors, the iconic Dairy Royalty and so much more! Highlighting the deep roots of our hard-working farming families, itโ€™s a high energy, community wide event that draws folks from all over the region. Find your spot on the sidewalk early, bring a lawn chair, and get ready to cheer!

With this year’s patriotic theme, our streets will be filled with beautiful red, white, and blue displays. As the official color guard passes by carrying the American flag, it is proper etiquette for spectators to stand, remove any hats, and place their right hand over their heart until the flag has passed. Additionally, if you or your little ones are enjoying small hand held flags during the festivities, please be sure to hold onto them securely so they stay off the ground and out of the street. Let’s keep our celebration beautiful and respectful for everyone!

June is bursting at the seams with community spirit, good food, and unforgettable memories. We canโ€™t wait to see you out there! Happy Summer Kickoff, Tillamook County!

The Chamberโ€™s Role in Downtownโ€™s Housing Transformation

Downtown Tillamook continues to undergo remarkable transformation, and it is about more than just fresh paint, it is about creating a place for our community to live and thrive. If you have noticed construction crews and building supplies piled up around Henson Plaza lately, you are seeing the results of a powerful partnership between the Tillamook Chamber of Commerce and local visionaries.

The first phase of Terry Phillipsโ€™ vision for the National Bank Building has already become a reality. A vibrant mix of businesses is now successfully established on the ground floor, bringing fresh energy and essential services to our downtown streets.

The momentum is only growing as work moves to the upper levels. These historic spaces are being transformed into much-needed housing, ensuring our downtown remains a bustling, multi-use hub. In addition to the upper-floor apartments, the project prioritizes accessibility with the inclusion of an ADA-accessible unit on the ground floor, providing inclusive living options right in the heart of the community. By adding this density downtown, we are ensuring more residents can live within walking distance of our local shops and services.

The Chamber served as the essential engine to drive this project forward through dedicated collaboration. Recognizing the potential and impact to downtown housing, the Chamber took on the heavy lifting of the grant writing and management. The Chamber identified this project as a well positioned project for a plethora of grants including the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant, Tillamook County Housing Commission, and the Tillamook Urban Renewal Agency โ€“ and they all agreed. Due to its impact on our housing crisis and location in downtown the projectโ€™s impact, between those three entities, the Chamber helped successfully secured over $500,000 in grant funding, bridging the gap between a historic shell and a vibrant landmark for the entire community.

This is the second time that the Chamber has been successful in the Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant in recent years. In 2019, the Chamber supported the vision of Lisa Greiner by securing a $200,000 Oregon Main Street Revitalization Grant, as well as championing the project through the final lending process, to develop four apartments above the Oregon Coast Dance Center. Following years of dedicated construction, the Jones-Knudson apartments recently celebrated their one-year anniversary. Now fully occupied, this project stands as a testament to how our partnerships foster long-term stability and vital housing for our downtown.

The Tillamook Chamber of Commerce is proud to work with motivated developers. By handling the heavy lifting of grant applications and fund coordination, we allow visionaries to focus on what they do best. When we work together to secure these investments, we arenโ€™t just fixing old buildings, we are creating a vibrant, inviting environment where our community can live, work, and play for generations to come.

Turning Local Support into Community Impact

The Tillamook Chamber Community Foundation was built to be a catalyst for change, but much of its most vital work happens where the public rarely sees it. While the Chamber of Commerce focuses on the daily pulse of our business community, the Foundation operates as the strategic “behind-the-scenes” hub that transforms charitable vision into measurable reality. Today, that engine is running, fueled by the generosity of local sponsors and donors who understand that a resilient county requires a professional, transparent framework to manage its most critical needs.

This commitment is visible in the Foundationโ€™s active response to the December 2025 storms and flooding. When disaster strikes, the primary challenge is rarely a lack of community will, but rather the need for a reliable infrastructure to move resources quickly and responsibly to those in need. Through a powerful partnership between private donors and the Oregon Community Foundation, the Disaster Relief Fund has become a resource for our neighbors.

By serving as the fiscal bridge between these generous contributors and those who were adversely impacted, we are ensuring that recovery dollars stay right here in Tillamook County. This essential groundwork provides our residents and local nonprofits with the support they need to respond effectively and remain resilient, even when the weather is at its worst.

Beyond emergency response, the Foundation is hard at work building a future that helps our youngest residents. By streamlining the management of funds for junior high educational travel, school-based athletics, and recreation programs, the Foundation is ensuring that support reaches students as well. We are also working closely with local partners to develop industry-linked scholarships that reflect Tillamookโ€™s unique values and needs.ย

Ultimately, the Foundation serves as the administrative backbone for the good ideas that make our county special. Whether we are managing the finances for a volunteer-led education program or helping a local business steward its charitable giving, our goal is to provide the accountability and structure necessary for success. We are proud to be the partner for those working to make Tillamook a better place to live and play. Whether through the Disaster Relief Fund or our upcoming youth initiatives, your partnership is what makes a stronger, more resilient Tillamook possible.

Spring Cleaning and New Life in Downtown Tillamook

There is something undeniably infectious about the arrival of spring. As the days stretch longer and the Oregon mist begins to give way to glimpses of sunshine, though as I write this, itโ€™s actually pouring buckets of rain, we can finally see the world waking up. In Downtown Tillamook, that “new life” isnโ€™t just happening in the flower beds; itโ€™s happening in our storefronts, our parks, and the very bones of our historic buildings.

Have you noticed the buzz lately? Itโ€™s more than just the birds returning; itโ€™s the hum of pressure washers and the sight of local business owners clearing away winter debris. Weโ€™ve seen incredible hustle from small business owners tidying up their curb appeal, while professional crews are hard at work prepping new retail spaces for upcoming entrepreneurs.

Another โ€œbloomโ€ to watch for is on the corner of 2nd and Pacific. A brand-new retail business is opening soon, and while we are keeping the details under wraps for just a bit longer, itโ€™s a perfect example of the fresh energy hitting our streets. This momentum continues with the Beals Building, which is slated for a much-needed facelift over the next couple of years. At the Chamber, Justin has been working behind the scenes with local developer Terry Phillips to mesh this historic landmarkโ€™s classic soul with a fun, modern energy. Itโ€™s a transformation youโ€™ll definitely want to keep an eye on!

Watching these renovations move forward highlights a vital truth: our downtown is the heart of Tillamookโ€™s reputation. According to the Oregon Main Street Program, a vibrant downtown serves as the commercial and cultural center of a community. When our streets look bright and cared for, it signals a healthy, thriving economy to everyone who passes through.

As the program also notes, people are naturally drawn to “bright and beautiful” spaces. Youโ€™re simply more likely to step into a shop with a fresh coat of paint and a clean sidewalk than one that looks dark or neglected. By investing in these exteriors, we encourage residents and visitors alike to shop locally, keeping our hard-earned dollars right here in our own backyard.

If all this spring cleaning has you feeling inspired to beautify our streets, we have an easy way for you to get involved! Our Flower Pot Program is back, and itโ€™s the perfect way to add a splash of color to our sidewalks without any of the heavy lifting.

We take care of everything. When you sponsor a pot, we handle the planting, the watering, and the ongoing maintenance all season long. You don’t even need to own a downtown business to participate, anyone can sponsor! Weโ€™ll even feature your name on a plaque to recognize your contribution to Tillamookโ€™s bright and beautiful reputation.

From the major renovations at the Beals Building to the simple beauty of a blooming petunia, every bit of effort helps our downtown take on new life. Letโ€™s keep this momentum growing!

Why We Love Tillamook

Green pastures, tractor, log truck, restaurant, cows in Tillamook County Oregon

At the recent Tillamook Chamber Banquet, guest speaker Kaylan Sisco shared a story that many of us can relate to. He spoke about the early days of his career, attending banquets and fundraisers, feeling the passion in the room, but not always having the extra funds to participate in the “Raise Your Card” portion of the evening.

During his time on stage, Kaylan asked the audience for a different kind of contribution. He invited everyone to write down what they loved about Tillamook County on the back of their cards, even if they couldn’t donate. He wanted us to give something that made a lasting impact: our gratitude.

Reading through those cards was heartwarming. It served as a beautiful reminder of why we do what we do. We wanted to share some of the highlights with you because, honestly, we couldnโ€™t agree more.

The recurring theme throughout almost every card was the people. There is a unique resilience here; no matter your background or your views, when times get hard, this community pulls together to help each other out.

“I love that Tillamook works hard to support its youth and empower them to succeed.”

Many of you also pointed to the intersection of our heritage and our daily lives, the way our industries shape our identity and our families.

“Tillamook is a great place to raise a family. Hunting, fishing, and the agriculture industry is amazing. The small-town feel and the love between neighbors is remarkable.”

“The people that make up the community and their backgrounds and diverse skills. Logging, farming, coastal living, and tourism. Tillamook is our Heaven on Earth.”

Thereโ€™s a specific kind of magic in a place where a trip to the grocery store doubles as a social hour.

“I love Tillamook because you can’t go to the store without seeing/visiting with a friend. I love Tillamook because of its small-town devotion to community service; prime example: The entire community supports the Charity Drive.”

“Beautiful green pastures and wildlife.”

At the Tillamook Chamber, our mission is to see this community thrive, not just economically, but socially and culturally. Seeing the outpouring of love on the back of those cards reinforces why we are so proud to serve this area.

Tillamook isn’t just a collection of businesses or a scenic stop on Highway 101; it is a living, breathing ecosystem of support, tradition, and neighborly love. Whether youโ€™ve lived here for generations or youโ€™ve just moved here, you are part of what makes this community so special.

We are incredibly lucky to be surrounded by people who care so deeply. Thank you for sharing your heart with us and for making Tillamook a place we are all proud to call home.

A Night to Remember: 2026 Chamber Banquet

What a night! Last Saturday, the air was filled with the sound of celebration as we gathered for our annual Tillamook Chamber Banquet. This yearโ€™s theme, “Under the Scottish Sunset,” provided a stunning backdrop to honor the incredible individuals and businesses that make Tillamook County such an amazing place to live and work.

With over 400 community members in attendance, the energy was electricโ€”a powerful reminder of what happens when we come together to support one another and celebrate shared achievements.

The magic started the moment guests arrived, greeted by an adorable miniature Highland cow that set the perfect tone for the evening. From there, the night transitioned into a delicious culinary experience. Dennis and Amanda Cavitt, along with the talented Garibaldi Bistro crew, truly outdid themselves, and the carrot cake from SaraSotaโ€™s was a massive hit!

Once the program began, our emcee, Kaylan Sisco, practically stole the show in full Scottish attire. Between his sharp wit and his willingness to do almost anything to raise money for a great cause, he kept the crowd in stitches all night. Keeping the momentum going behind the scenes was Scott Casey, who not only leaned into the theme but did a phenomenal job masterfully managing the lights, sound, and slideshows.

The heart of the evening was the presentation of awards to those who have gone above and beyond for our county. This year’s honorees are:

  • Citizen of the Year: Barbara McCann
Barbara has been the โ€œcommon threadโ€ for the North County Recreation District for nearly 30 years, spearheading efforts to save vital facilities and placing them on the ballot. Most recently, she led a monumental fundraising effort for their new aquatics center.
  • Business of the Year: Grocery Outlet
The owners and staff at Tillamook Grocery Outlet do more than sell groceries; they serve as a vital resource for local families and local charities. Their commitment to food donations and creating a supportive, team-oriented workplace helps our entire community grow together.
  • Small Business of the Year: Oregon Coast Bank
Oregon Coast Bank has become a hands-on community partner, going far beyond traditional banking. By intentionally seeking out and supporting local organizations, they have strengthened the programs that directly benefit our neighbors.
  • Development Project of the Year: The National Bank Building
This restoration has breathed vibrant new life into Downtown Tillamook, transforming the area with sleek, revitalized retail spaces. With eight apartments currently under construction, this project is a bright spot that provides much-needed space for our small business community.
  • Program of the Year: Tillamook Bay Community College Nursing Program
By creating a homegrown RN pathway, TBCC is addressing critical rural healthcare shortages and allowing students to pursue careers locally. Their inaugural class achieved an exceptional first-time licensure pass rate, proving the strength and necessity of this program.

While other awards celebrated specific projects and individual achievements, one presentation stood in a category of its own. Justin Aufdermauer was honored to present Jerry Dove, Trustee of the Loren E. Parks Trust, with a special Community Impact Award. The Trust has invested millions into local organizations like the Fairgrounds, the YMCA, Adventist Health and more. When an organization supports the community this deeply, everyone rises. Our heartfelt congratulations go to Jerry Dove and the enduring legacy of the Loren E. Parks Trust.

As the sun set on a truly unforgettable evening, one thing became clear: the strength of Tillamook County lies in the passion of its people. Whether through historic restorations, healthcare breakthroughs, or dedicated service, our community continues to prove that we are at our best when we lift each other up. A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and every guest who joined us to celebrate. We left the banquet feeling inspired and more connected than ever, ready to take the momentum of 2026 and turn it into another year of growth and shared success. Hereโ€™s to the legends we honored at the banquet and the bright future we are building together!

A Night Under the Scottish Sunset

There is a unique magic that happens when a community comes together to say “thank you.” In Tillamook County, that magic peaks every year at the Tillamook Chamber Banquet. Itโ€™s more than just a dinner; itโ€™s a heartfelt celebration of the people, projects, and businesses that make our corner of the Pacific Northwest a truly exceptional place to live, work, and play.

The journey to the banquet begins each November when we open nominations to the public. We look for businesses and people who go over and beyond. The Businesses that provide more than just services, the Development Projects and Programs that reshape our future, and the Citizens who give tirelessly of their time.

Once nominations close, a dedicated committee of community leaders and past award winners takes on the difficult task of selecting the winners. While the anticipation builds for weeks, the big reveal happens live at the banquet, where we cheer for every finalist and celebrate the impact theyโ€™ve made.

Each year, our banquet theme is inspired by the upcoming Chamber trip. This year, we are transporting guests to the Highlands with our theme โ€“ A Scottish Sunset! Ashley Christensen and the team have been working tirelessly behind the scenes, planning to transform the space into a beautiful setting where “surprises await.”

To match the theme, Dennis and Amanda Cavitt and the Garibaldi Bistro crew is crafting a specially curated menu of Scottish-inspired cuisine. Between the delicious food and the vibrant atmosphere, itโ€™s a night for the community to dress up, dine well, and enjoy the best company around.

The eveningโ€™s entertainment is in expert hands this year. We will welcome back the 2025 Citizen of the Year, Kaylan Sisco, to guideย  us through the night as our emcee, while Scott Casey provides the lights and music to keep the energy high.

Another exciting highlight is our oral auction. Things tend to get a little competitive (in the best way possible!) as guests bid on fantastic items donated by our thoughtful local partners. If you miss out during the dinner, donโ€™t worry, our virtual auction will be live January 29th!

We canโ€™t wait to see you there under the Scottish Sunset. Letโ€™s raise a glass to the people who make Tillamook shine!

Leading with Heart: Meet the Finalists for Citizen of the Year

The heart of Tillamook County is not found in its landmarks or its landscapes, but in the tireless spirit of the people who call this place home. In the final installment of our 2025 Chamber Community Award highlights, we celebrate the selfless individuals who represent the best of our communityโ€™s spirit and leadership. This yearโ€™s Citizen of the Year nominees represent servant leadership, from veterans and healthcare pioneers to advocates for our youth and protectors of our animals. Each of these finalists has looked at a need in our community and met it with unwavering dedication, often working behind the scenes without expectation of praise. These are the neighbors who build our future, one act of service at a time.

Vanessa Cham is deeply committed to strengthening Tillamook County through her leadership, service, and care for local families. As the Executive Director of the Tillamook Early Learning Center, she leads essential daycare, nutrition, and education services to nearly 60 local families. Her passion for child safety led her to spearhead the “Dive Into Water Fun & Safety” event in Garibaldi, which provides free life jackets and education to hundreds of children. Beyond her professional role, Vanessa serves on the boards of both the Kiwanis Club and the Tillamook County Pioneer Museum. A devoted mother and caregiver to her extended family, Vanessaโ€™s tireless work ethic and heart for service make her a community treasure.

Barbara McCann has been the driving force behind the North County Recreation District since 1995. When the local school district moved out, Barbara spearheaded the effort to save the building and pool, successfully placing the recreation district on the ballot. For nearly 30 years, she has been the “common thread” ensuring the facilityโ€™s survival through numerous successful bond measures. Barbara recently led a successful $16 million fundraising effort for a new North County aquatics center. This included $8.2 million from a voter-supported bond and $7.8 million from diverse sources, creating a lasting legacy of health and community safety for North County.

Judy Riggs embodies the spirit of service, integrity, and dedication that defines Tillamook County. An Air Force Veteran, Judyโ€™s commitment to others was forged in the highest levels of duty. Locally, she served as Garibaldiโ€™s Postmaster for 14 years and later as Mayor, always prioritizing the dignity and security of every resident. Her volunteerism is boundless, from staffing the Garibaldi Museum to her tireless work at Godโ€™s Lighthouse Food Pantry. Whether she is personally hauling groceries for families in need, maintaining Highway 101 through the Adopt-a-Road program, or coordinating the Giving Tree for local children, Judy leads with a smile and a genuine heart.ย

Eric Sappington enhances the quality of life in Tillamook County through a unique blend of artistic talent and community mentorship. Whether he is enriching local lives with his music or supporting youth through the YMCAโ€™s Court 4 program, Ericโ€™s presence is a constant source of encouragement. He is the first to step in when a need arises, always showing up with a positive attitude and a signature smile. Beyond his artistic gifts, Ericโ€™s willingness to serve whenever called upon and his genuine gratitude for those around him make him an exceptional neighbor and an outstanding part of our community.

Nelia Seratista is widely known throughout Tillamook for her extraordinary generosity and open-door spirit. As the owner of Pacific Restaurant, she has transformed her business into a community hub, frequently providing her space free of charge for non-profits, school groups, and fundraisers. Nelia has a unique ability to mobilize dedicated volunteers for vital causes like Tides of Change and Shop with a Cop. From donating food to hosting the annual law enforcement dinner, Neliaโ€™s selfless investment in local organizations and consistent support make her a respected part of the county.

Eric Swanson exemplifies servant leadership through his commitment to the health of Tillamook County. As President of Adventist Health Tillamook, Eric has led transformative healthcare improvements, most notably his multi-year mission to restore local dialysis services in 2025. Recognizing the physical and financial toll long-distance travel took on vulnerable patients, Eric navigated complex regulatory and financial hurdles to bring this lifesaving care back to the community. He pursued this difficult task not for institutional gain, but to ensure residents could receive treatment with dignity, keeping families together and providing a vital safety net for those in need.

Dusty Trost, Principal Broker of Rob Trost Real Estate, leads his team with a rare blend of strength, vision, and heart. Since stepping into leadership in 2019, he has not only upheld his fatherโ€™s legacy but expanded it through a culture of quiet, sincere service. From revitalizing the Netarts park to his steadfast support of 4-H and local youth, Dusty consistently invests in the traditions that define Tillamook. Though he prefers to stay out of the spotlight, his hands-on generosity and humble leadership inspire a ripple effect of kindness throughout the entire county.

Nonda Zwald has dedicated over a decade to animal welfare and community service in Tillamook County. Following the creation of the “Mutt Strutt” in honor of her daughter, Sondi, Nonda became the driving force behind Tillamook K9 Rescue. Under her leadership, a deteriorating building was transformed into a functional shelter that provides a safe haven for lost and abandoned dogs. Nonda has rallied local contractors, organized microchip clinics, and partnered with law enforcement to fill a vital gap in local services. Her tireless advocacy, integrity, and compassion have ensured that countless animals find their forever homes and a second chance.

Choosing just one recipient from such an extraordinary group is a daunting task, as each of these eight individuals has left a mark on the fabric of our community. Their stories remind us that whether through a lifelong career of service or a quiet, daily commitment to kindness, every resident has the power to create a ripple effect of positive change. We invite you to join us in honoring these local heroes and celebrating their contributions at the Chamber Community Awards Banquet on Saturday, January 24th, at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds. This is our night to say “thank you” to those who make Tillamook County a better place for us all. Tickets are selling fast, visit tillamookchamber.org/rsvp to secure your tickets today!

What is the Tillamook Chamber Community Foundation Anyway?

The Tillamook Chamber Community Foundation (TCCF) exists to strengthen Tillamook County today while investing in its future.

As the philanthropic arm of the Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce, the Foundation was created to focus on community-wide impact. While the Chamber concentrates on business membership and networking, the Foundationโ€”established as a 501(c)(3) nonprofitโ€”supports long-term community vitality, leadership, and quality of life for everyone who calls Tillamook County home.

Formally launched in early 2022, the TCCF serves as a community catalyst, convener, and champion. Its mission centers on smart, sustainable growth by supporting employment opportunities, investing in community projects, and fostering leadership across the county. As a public charity, the Foundation can accept tax-deductible donations, providing a trusted vehicle for local philanthropy that stays local.

In practice, the Foundation often works behind the scenesโ€”providing structure, accountability, and administrative support that allow good ideas to become real, measurable impact. We partner with volunteers, donors, nonprofits, schools, and businesses to manage funds, administer grants, and ensure charitable dollars are used transparently and responsibly.

Today, the Foundationโ€™s work includes:

  • Supporting volunteer-led community groups, such as natural resource education programs and locally funded scholarships, by managing finances, processing payments, and issuing charitable receipts.
  • Helping local donors establish scholarships tied to Tillamookโ€™s industries and values, while allowing donors to remain directly involved in fundraising and student selection.
  • Expanding youth access and opportunity, including managing funds for junior high educational travel, youth recreation programs, and school-based athleticsโ€”ensuring support reaches students equitably.
  • Seeking grants from regional and statewide partners, including donor-advised funds and disaster response organizations, to deliver timely assistance to individuals, nonprofits, and businesses during times of need.
  • Supporting community fundraising efforts, working with local businesses and event organizers to steward charitable dollars and maximize community benefit.

While this work benefits local businesses by strengthening the community where employees live and visitors spend time, the Foundationโ€™s primary beneficiaries are Tillamook County residentsโ€”especially students, families, nonprofits, and volunteer-led initiatives working to make our county a better place to live, work, and play.

If youโ€™re looking to support a meaningful cause, launch a community-focused project, or partner in building a stronger, more resilient Tillamook County, the Tillamook Chamber Community Foundation is here to help.

Have You Seen the Signs? Wayfinding is Officially Here!

orange signs with places one can visit within walking distance, including the kayak launch, parks, restroom, etc.

Have you seen them yet? Just a few months ago, we shared a sneak peek into our partnership with theย Tillamook Coast Visitors Association (TCVA)ย to bring pedestrian wayfinding signs to downtown Tillamook. Today, we are thrilled to announce that these beautiful, high-quality signs are officially installed and looking amazing!

These signs do more than just point the way; they signal to every visitor that Tillamook is a place worth exploring. By guiding guests from our local breweries to the kayak launch and veteranโ€™s memorial, we are encouraging longer stays that directly support our small business community.

This project was made possible through the generous funding of theย TCVA, turning lodging tax dollars into a permanent community asset. We also want to extend a huge “thank you” to theย City of Tillamookย for their incredible work correcting old signage and assisting with the cleanup to ensure the installation went smoothly.

In a commendable effort to reduce visual clutter,ย ODOTย was instrumental in approving the removal of eight signs that were contributing to sign pollution in our downtownย area. The result is a cleaner, more navigable downtown that we can all be proud of. Next time youโ€™re out for a stroll, take a look! We invite you to head downtown, follow the signs, and rediscover the hidden gems in our own backyard.

New Apparel Designs Debut at Tillamook County Fair

Itโ€™s almost that time of year again! Tillamook County Fair time! The air is buzzing with anticipation as preparations unfold across the county. Community members are busy preparing with activities ranging from getting 4-H exhibits ready, printing and framing stunning photography displays to demolition derby cars getting a final overhaul for Saturday nightโ€™s grand event. It’s evident that this fair is an exciting highlight of the year for both adults and children!

Here at the Chamber, we’ve been crafting a new line of apparel that weโ€™re confident will be a great addition to your wardrobe. These designs have been carefully selected to reflect the spirit of our community. Wearing Tillamook apparel isnโ€™t just about staying cozy and looking good; itโ€™s a symbol that showcases our shared values and commitment to making Tillamook a vibrant and thriving place to live, work, and visit.

Every year, families visiting Tillamook eagerly stock up on the latest apparel, turning it into an annual tradition or reunion of sorts. It’s always fun to see grandparents joyfully picking out items for all their grandkids.

All our clothing is printed locally by PSI Screen Printing & Embroidery Services, Signs & Vinyl Graphics, a proud member of our Chamber. By choosing to print locally, weโ€™re not only ensuring the highest quality and craftsmanship but also supporting a local business that plays a vital role in our local economy.

The Tillamook County Fair runs from August 7-10 this year, and we couldnโ€™t be more excited to share our new designs with you. Come see us in the main pavilion across from the Tillamook Ice Cream Booth. Whether youโ€™re enjoying a thrilling ride, admiring the creativity on display, or cheering at the Pig-N- Ford races, make sure to stop by and grab your Tillamook apparel.

See you at the fair!

Sip + Shop: A Growing Community Favorite

SIP + SHOP

Tillamook Chamber of Commerce’s Sip + Shop: A Growing Community Favorite

The Sip + Shop event in downtown Tillamook has become a beloved fixture, growing in popularity over the past year. Held on the second Friday of each month from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, it offers a fun evening of shopping, socializing, and sampling adult beverages, drawing both residents and visitors to downtown Tillamook.

This lively event owes much of its success to the enthusiastic participation of downtown Tillamook’s small business owners. Many of these dedicated proprietors extend their hours to welcome attendees, providing beverage samplesโ€”both alcoholic and non-alcoholicโ€”for guests to enjoy as they explore their stores. Their collaboration transforms an ordinary evening into a memorable community gathering.

Adding to the fun, Sip + Shop often features themed nights. Past themes have included Valentine’s Day and St. Patrick’s Day, complete with a treasure hunt for a โ€œPot oโ€™ Gold,โ€ where participants could win exciting prizes.

The adventure begins at the Chamber HQ, where attendees receive a complimentary, reusable wine glass and their first sip of the evening. They’re also given a list of participating businesses offering additional samples as they browse. Regular attendees who bring back their glasses the following month are entered into a drawing for a chance to win a prize, adding an extra incentive for return visits.

Jennifer Robitsch, owner of Madeline’s in downtown Tillamook, has been involved with Sip + Shop since its inception. “Sip + Shop seems to be turning into a fun ladies’ night out, and that makes it a lot of fun!” Jennifer shared. “It’s a great way to get out and visit the local businesses in the evening. Itโ€™s always a fun and festive event!โ€

As Sip + Shop continues to expand, it’s heartening to see how it fosters a sense of community while supporting the local economy. The event not only brings people together but also encourages residents and visitors to explore and appreciate the unique offerings of Tillamookโ€™s small businesses.

Whether you’re looking to discover new treasures while shopping locally, enjoy a casual evening out, or simply mingle with fellow community members, Sip + Shop offers something for everyone. Although there will be no Sip + Shop in August so that everyone can enjoy the Tillamook County Fair, but Sip + Shop will be back in full swing on September 13th from 5:00 to 7:00 pm.

For more information, follow us, Tillamook Area Chamber of Commerce, on social media for regular updates on upcoming Sip + Shop events and themes, or visit the community calendar Here
