If you’ve taken a stroll downtown lately, you might have noticed things looking a whole lot brighter. That’s all thanks to the special people in our community who consistently go above and beyond to make Tillamook County a truly wonderful place to be! Because of their hard work and dedication, downtown is shining for the summer ahead, perfectly combining fresh blooms with a beautiful touch of red, white, and blue.
Our sidewalks got a fantastic head start this early spring thanks to two local high school seniors, Damion and Vincent, who power-washed the sidewalks for their Senior Project. Building on that momentum, Terry Phillips and his incredible crew have been working to clean up downtown Tillamook’s sidewalks along 101, with even more clean-up work happening this very week. We owe a massive thank you to Terry and his team for their dedication to keeping downtown looking nice!
Beyond the clean-up, you may have also noticed a beautiful wave of patriotic flair popping up around town. We want to send a special shout out to the Grinch Gang for hanging the wonderful fan flags that are bringing a patriotic energy to our streets just in time for the upcoming summer festivities.
The downtown transformation doesn’t stop there. Our flower pots are officially getting a fresh makeover with beautiful new flowers from Penny, and they will stay hydrated and thriving all season long with the helping hand of Wendy.
If you want to add some color and a pop of summer vibes to your block, the Flower Pot Program is the absolute perfect way to add a splash of color to our sidewalks without any of the heavy lifting. When you sponsor a pot, the Chamber handles absolutely everything, from the initial planting to the weekly watering and ongoing maintenance all season long.
The best part? Anyone can participate! As a program of the Tillamook Chamber Foundation, this is open to everyone, you don’t need to own a downtown business to sponsor a pot. Whether you are a resident, a local family, or an organization, you can contribute a small investment to help beautify a corner of our community.
