A Night to Remember: 2026 Chamber Banquet

What a night! Last Saturday, the air was filled with the sound of celebration as we gathered for our annual Tillamook Chamber Banquet. This year’s theme, “Under the Scottish Sunset,” provided a stunning backdrop to honor the incredible individuals and businesses that make Tillamook County such an amazing place to live and work.

With over 400 community members in attendance, the energy was electric—a powerful reminder of what happens when we come together to support one another and celebrate shared achievements.

The magic started the moment guests arrived, greeted by an adorable miniature Highland cow that set the perfect tone for the evening. From there, the night transitioned into a delicious culinary experience. Dennis and Amanda Cavitt, along with the talented Garibaldi Bistro crew, truly outdid themselves, and the carrot cake from SaraSota’s was a massive hit!

Once the program began, our emcee, Kaylan Sisco, practically stole the show in full Scottish attire. Between his sharp wit and his willingness to do almost anything to raise money for a great cause, he kept the crowd in stitches all night. Keeping the momentum going behind the scenes was Scott Casey, who not only leaned into the theme but did a phenomenal job masterfully managing the lights, sound, and slideshows.

The heart of the evening was the presentation of awards to those who have gone above and beyond for our county. This year’s honorees are:

  • Citizen of the Year: Barbara McCann
Barbara has been the “common thread” for the North County Recreation District for nearly 30 years, spearheading efforts to save vital facilities and placing them on the ballot. Most recently, she led a monumental fundraising effort for their new aquatics center.
  • Business of the Year: Grocery Outlet
The owners and staff at Tillamook Grocery Outlet do more than sell groceries; they serve as a vital resource for local families and local charities. Their commitment to food donations and creating a supportive, team-oriented workplace helps our entire community grow together.
  • Small Business of the Year: Oregon Coast Bank
Oregon Coast Bank has become a hands-on community partner, going far beyond traditional banking. By intentionally seeking out and supporting local organizations, they have strengthened the programs that directly benefit our neighbors.
  • Development Project of the Year: The National Bank Building
This restoration has breathed vibrant new life into Downtown Tillamook, transforming the area with sleek, revitalized retail spaces. With eight apartments currently under construction, this project is a bright spot that provides much-needed space for our small business community.
  • Program of the Year: Tillamook Bay Community College Nursing Program
By creating a homegrown RN pathway, TBCC is addressing critical rural healthcare shortages and allowing students to pursue careers locally. Their inaugural class achieved an exceptional first-time licensure pass rate, proving the strength and necessity of this program.

While other awards celebrated specific projects and individual achievements, one presentation stood in a category of its own. Justin Aufdermauer was honored to present Jerry Dove, Trustee of the Loren E. Parks Trust, with a special Community Impact Award. The Trust has invested millions into local organizations like the Fairgrounds, the YMCA, Adventist Health and more. When an organization supports the community this deeply, everyone rises. Our heartfelt congratulations go to Jerry Dove and the enduring legacy of the Loren E. Parks Trust.

As the sun set on a truly unforgettable evening, one thing became clear: the strength of Tillamook County lies in the passion of its people. Whether through historic restorations, healthcare breakthroughs, or dedicated service, our community continues to prove that we are at our best when we lift each other up. A huge thank you to our sponsors, volunteers, and every guest who joined us to celebrate. We left the banquet feeling inspired and more connected than ever, ready to take the momentum of 2026 and turn it into another year of growth and shared success. Here’s to the legends we honored at the banquet and the bright future we are building together!
