Cape Lookout Stewardship Days
Join WEBS for a Rewarding Day of Stewardship at Cape Lookout State Park
Come and spend a meaningful morning outdoors with WEBS staff and volunteers on Wednesday, August 26, from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m., helping care for one of Oregon’s most treasured coastal parks.
While Cape Lookout’s campground and day-use area are temporarily closed for construction, volunteers have a unique opportunity to make a lasting impact by improving a trail at the park. This hands-on stewardship project is open to all experience levels. Please note that the work is physically demanding and is not suitable for youth under the age of 14.
We’ll meet at the Cape Lookout Trailhead and hike approximately 1.5 miles along the trail to our work site. Once there, volunteers will help carry buckets of gravel to strengthen one of the trail’s muddiest sections, creating a safer, more durable walking surface. We’ll also use hand tools to level the trail and improve drainage, helping protect this beautiful landscape for future visitors.
Whether you’re looking to give back, enjoy time in nature, or learn new trail-building skills, this is a fantastic opportunity to work alongside Oregon State Park rangers and fellow community volunteers. Come prepared to get your hands dirty, make new connections, and leave knowing you’ve made a real difference for Cape Lookout State Park!
