🗣️ What a CAC Meeting Is

A CAC (Citizen Advisory Committee) is a local community group made up of residents, property owners, and business owners who gather to discuss issues affecting the Pacific City-Woods area. These committees are part of Tillamook County’s citizen involvement program under Oregon’s land-use planning requirements. Their purpose is to provide a public forum where community members can learn about, discuss, and offer input on local planning and policy matters that affect the area.

🪑 Typical Activities at a CAC Meeting

During a meeting at the Kiawanda Community Center, participants generally:

Hear presentations or updates from county staff or community members on local issues (e.g., land use, development proposals, transportation or environmental topics).

Discuss community concerns and priorities related to planning, development, services, or community character.

Provide feedback and recommendations that the committee will relay to the Tillamook County Board of Commissioners, Planning Commission, or other local bodies.

Engage in dialogue with neighbors and officials to help inform decisions and improve communication between the community and local government.
