2024 Spring Schwingfest & Swiss Stomp, Tillamook Swiss Society

Get ready for a day filled with Swiss-inspired excitement at the 2024 Swchingfest and Swiss Stomp. Tillamook’s Schwingfest is the only indoor “Hallen Schwingfest” on the West Coast!   Here are some details about what to expect:

Schwing Ring Crowned Schwingfest: Hosted by the Portland Schwingen Club, witness intense wrestling matches, including local wrestlers and ones who travelled! Traditional Ländler Music will accompany the event, creating an unforgettable atmosphere.

 Steinstossen Competition: Join the Tillamook Swiss Society for the traditional Swiss shot-put competition. This will be open to anyone who wants to participate and there will be men, women, and children’s categories. Test your strength and cheer on the competitors!

 Cultural Heritage & Static Displays: Immerse yourself in Swiss heritage and culture with curated displays by the Tillamook Swiss Society, showcasing local private family collections.

 Swiss Stomp & Dance Floor: Grab your dancing shoes! Enjoy family-friendly events throughout the day, including Swiss dance lessons before the Swiss Stomp. The Tirolean Dancers will dazzle you with the Broom Dance, and the Polkatones will keep the party alive with lively music. Get ready for a tuba-led Oom Pah Pah Conga Line – you won’t want to miss it!

 Kindergarten: Lots of kid friendly activities to be held. Engage in Swiss games, coloring, and crafting at our designated kindergarten area. Participate in a family friendly Volkswalk for a chance to win exciting prizes!
