When major earthquakes strike, taking immediate action saves lives, and this countywide event is designed to help our community prepare, plan, and practice before a disaster occurs.

At exactly 10:15 AM on October 15, participants will practice the fundamental safety steps together. First, drop to your hands and knees. Next, cover your head and neck under a sturdy desk or table. Hold on until the simulated shaking stops, and then safely evacuate to your designated Assembly Area or Neighborhood Gathering Site with your emergency Go-Bag in hand.

Taking just five minutes to practice builds the muscle memory needed to act quickly during a real earthquake. Families, businesses, schools, and civic organizations are all encouraged to participate.
