DESCRIPTION:Contact: info@netartsbaywebs.org\n \nFRIENDS OF NETARTS BAY – WEBS\, HOSTS THREE TIDEPOOL DISCOVERY DAYS IN THE MONTH OF JUNE \nJoin us on the beach for some great low tides this June\, perfect for exploring and discovering the amazing creatures lurking at the water’s edge.  Choose one day – or all three – on the beautiful beaches in Oceanside. \nThis is a wonderful opportunity to connect with the local community\, friends\, and family as you enjoy the beauty of Oceanside’s amazing tidepools.  We hope to see you on the beach June 16th\, 17th\, and 18th. \nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS staff\, Oregon State Park Rangers\, and volunteers will be on-site in the tidepools to share about the habitats along the coastal edge. Learn about the anemone clone wars\, how a sea star eats\, or how hermit crabs find their shelled homes. From seaweeds to sculpin fish\, there is an amazing world to discover!  \nDetails: Wear boots or bring a change of shoes.  DO NOT WEAR flip-flops (they are never ideal for exploring tide pools).  Be prepared for Oregon Coast weather. \nThis program involves walking on slippery and uneven surfaces\, including rocks that may be covered in water\, seaweed\, and barnacles. DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!

DESCRIPTION:Please join us at our 2nd Annual Cowbell Classic pickleball tournament June 19\, 20\, and 21 at the Tillamook County Fairgrounds indoor courts. Proceeds from last year’s tournament helped us procure brand new\, state-of-the-art lighting for our facility. We can’t wait for you to see the results! \nProceeds over and above expenses from this year’s tournament will support youth pickleball in Tillamook County. All participants receive a commemorative T-shirt and gift bag. A raffle and barbecue will be held at the 4H Building at the Tillamook Fairgrounds following the completion of events on Saturday\, June 20th. \nPayment is required to register. Standard registration is $70 and includes 1 event. Open through June 10. Round Robin format (skill/age) with playoffs for Gold/Silver/Bronze for skills 3.0-4.5+. Age brackets will be determined following the close of registration\, but we will strive to be close to under 50\, 50-59\, & 70+ events. SUMMARY:Trail Building in Nehalem Bay With LNCT!
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.
