Conversations range from events to new business opening and who is looking for help. This is a great opportunity to get in touch with our business and retail community\, as well as many of the non-profits\, government officials\, service groups and community leaders. Conversations are always casual and fun\, and there is always plenty of coffee and some breakfast treats. SUMMARY:MusicOregon Listening Session on the North Coast Music Scene
DESCRIPTION:MusicOregon is conducting a statewide listening tour across seven Oregon communities from May 16 through May 23\, 2026. Each stop is a free\, two-hour public gathering open to musicians\, venue operators\, music educators\, producers\, managers\, and anyone who works in or alongside the local music scene. The gatherings are conversation-first: no formal presentations\, no agenda beyond listening. Participants will help define MusicOregon’s statewide programming\, partnerships\, and advocacy priorities for the next two years. \nThe tour is funded in part by the Oregon Community Foundation through its Arts Rebuilding Grant program\, and reflects MusicOregon’s expansion beyond its Portland origins into all of Oregon’s major music regions: the North Coast\, the Willamette Valley\, Southern Oregon\, Central Oregon\, and Northeastern Oregon. \nA statewide needs assessment survey is also open now at musicoregon.org/survey. Responses are anonymous. DESCRIPTION:The Tillamook Association for the Performing Arts (TAPA) will hold auditions for “Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play” written by Joe Landry\, on May 17 at 1:00 pm at Oregon Coast Dance Center\, located at 312 Main Ave in Tillamook. This production is looking for six to seven individuals who are enthusiastic\, collaborative\, and willing to explore this playful and inventive style of theater. \nThis unique production brings three classic Alfred Hitchcock stories to life in the style of a 1940s radio broadcast. Performed onstage with scripts in hand\, actors take on multiple roles\, shifting between characters\, voices\, and accents while also creating live sound effects. The result is a fast-paced and imaginative theatrical experience that allows audiences to both hear and see how a radio drama is made. \nNo script memorization is required\, making this an accessible opportunity for performers of all experience levels. \n“Vintage Hitchcock: A Live Radio Play” is directed by Rebecca Dougherty and sponsored by Cyndi Lewis of Rob Trost Real Estate.  Those interested in suspense\, character work\, and the magic of live storytelling are encouraged to attend auditions and learn more about this engaging production.
