DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!

DESCRIPTION:The confluence of the Salmonberry and Nehalem Rivers is an incredibly special place–we are excited to show you this portion of the future Salmonberry Trail! \nWe will hike along the Salmonberry River to the first major landslide (roughly a mile in). We will get a first hand picture of the major challenges this trail presents itself while enjoying the wildlife of spring! \nWhat to wear and bring: Please dress for the weather (rain jacket) and wear hiking boots (it might be slick in some spots so rain boots are not recommended). Bring a snack and plenty of water for yourself. \nThere’s no formal address and no cell coverage in the area\, so here’s the most reliable description: \nMeet at the North end of the Foss Road bridge over the Salmonberry River \nLandmarks: 15.2 miles east of Mohler\, 13 miles south of Elsie Nearest known point: Morrison Eddy Campground (the hike parking area is 1.3 miles south on Foss Road) \nCoordinates: 45°44’60.0”N\, 123°39’08.9”W \nMap link: https://maps.app.goo.gl/TrfHCtE91yVFGeQZA \nWe want everyone to get into the canyon—and out—smoothly. \nHow to Get There (Read This Part)\nComing from the Portland area:\n– Head west toward Elsie\n– If you reach the restaurant in Elsie\, you’ve gone too far\n– Turn onto Lower Nehalem Road and stay on it all the way to the destination \nComing from Wheeler / Coast side:\n– Take Highway 53 to Miami-Foley Road\n– Follow Miami-Foley to Foss Road\n– Stay on Foss Road to the bridge

DESCRIPTION:The Tillamook County Pioneer Museum (TCPM)\, thanks to a generous grant from Tillamook High School Charity Drive\, is hosting a free movie showing of “Lincoln” at the Tillamook Coliseum Theater on October 3 beginning at 6 pm.\n\nThe 2012 film directed by Steven Spielberg\, is set in January 1865. President Abraham Lincoln (played by Daniel Day-Lewis) races against time to pass the 13th Amendment through the House of Representatives.\n\nPrior to the film showing\, guests are invited to arrive early for a meet-and-greet and photos with “Honest Babe Lincoln\,” a remarkably good look-alike of Abraham Lincoln.\n\nTCPM will have Abraham Lincoln themed books and stickers for sale\, and the theater’s concessions will be open.\n\nMovie admission is free\, though donations are always appreciated.\n\nDoors open at 5 pm.

Lil’ Robbie (Armisen)\, an elementary school kid growing up in 1980’s Philadelphia\, has to navigate being a nerdy outsider in a tough environment. Sometimes funny\, sometimes sad\, You Play Too Much is a series of stop motion animated vignettes about friendship\, bullies\, and the rules of the schoolyard that felt like the law at the time.  \n– The beautiful and poignant animated short HAVE I SWALLOWED YOUR DREAMS\, by Canadian director Clara Chan. A poetic conversation between an immigrant daughter and her mother about sacrifices and dreams. \n– The touching live action short AN OLD FRIEND by director Nuk Suwanchote\, and starring Tom Skerritt (Alien\, Top Gun). An imaginary friend finds out his sole purpose is to bring happiness to his child\, only to discover his child is a 90 year old man (Skerritt) on his death bed \n– The hilarious documentary OH WHALE by award winning Portland-based director and cinematographer Winslow Crane-Murdoch. When news anchor Paul Linnman arrived in Florence\, Oregon on November 12th\, 1970\, he had no idea that the story he was about to tell would forever define his career. Following a small Oregon town\, an exploding whale\, and the man who made the story famous\, Oh Whale is about how we don’t get to choose our fate\, only what we make of it. \nAbout the Manzanita Film Festival \nThe Manzanita Film Festival is dedicated to celebrating the rich cinematic heritage of the Pacific Northwest region.
