SUMMARY:After the Fire Benefit Concert for Scott Casey & Cosmo Jones
DESCRIPTION:Some good friends experienced a huge fire at the end of January and lost all the contents of a building on their property\, which contained two recording studios\, a myriad of musical instruments\, stage equipment\, lights\, computers\, and their livelihoods. Moss Creek Studios\, Coastal AV\, and Crow Cane Studios were completely destroyed.\n\nA bunch of us who love them would really like to provide support to cover the cost of things insurance will not provide. All of the people involved are the kind of people who have helped everyone around them in multiple ways\, on multiple occasions. They are a big part of the heart of our community. Money won’t replace the lost treasures and memories\, but it can help lighten the pain of starting over. Suggested donation is $10 for this event\, plus we are raffling off a brand new Taylor Guitar to one lucky person!

DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.

DESCRIPTION:Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS is kicking off 2026 with a three-part event series\, “Producers of\nthe Bay!” Our first event of the series shines a spotlight on eelgrass\, a flowering marine plant\nthat acts as a nursery for the young fish and invertebrates that form the foundation of our local\nfood web.\nNetarts Bay stands out as one of the few bays in Oregon that still has healthy native eelgrass\nbeds. Eelgrass is impacted by a variety of human activities including boating\, dredging\,\nrecreational shellfish harvest\, some aquaculture harvesting techniques\, the introduction of\ninvasive species\, and nutrient runoff from land. Eelgrass responses to\, and recovery from\, these\nactivities vary widely\, highlighting the importance of local\, science-based approaches to\nsustaining ecosystem health while supporting the important industries and communities that\ndepend on a thriving bay. DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!
