SUMMARY:Symphony presents concerts in June
DESCRIPTION:The North Oregon Coast Symphony finishes its 2024-2025 season with two concerts in June titled “Echoes of the New World.” The programs will feature Antonín Dvořák’s beloved Symphony #9\, also known as the New World Symphony. \nAlso featured will be two pieces spotlighting NOCS’s graduating high school seniors.  Dylan Morrow will be the soloist for Max Bruch’s Kol Nidrei for Cello and Orchestra\, and violinist Audrey Cereghino for Soon Hee Newbold’s Invicta. \nJohann Strauss Jr.’s Emperor Waltz will round out this concert series. \nThe first concert will take place on Saturday\, June 14 at the Nehalem Elementary School Gym (36300 8th St.\, Nehalem\, OR) beginning at 3:00 pm. \nThe second concert will be on Sunday\, June 15\, at the Charlene Larsen Center for the Performing Arts (588 16th St.\, Astoria\, OR) at 3:00 pm. \n  \nAdmission for both concerts will be: $10 Adults\, ages 18 and under FREE (children 12 and under with adult supervision).   \nTickets will be available at the door for the Nehalem concert (cash and personal checks only.) \nTickets for the Astoria concert will be sold online at charlenelarsencenter.org or by phone at 503 338 9132.  Cookies and refreshments will be available at both concerts during intermission. \n  \nThis non-profit orchestra\, under the direction of conductor Cory Pederson\, brings together musicians from the north Oregon and south Washington coast to perform classical music for local audiences.  For more information\, please visit the the NOCS website nocsymphony.org.

We might even meet a fisherman or two along the way!\nReserve your spot!\nFind out more at https://seagrant.oregonstate.edu/outreach-and-engagement/shop-dock\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nEach tour will last about 90 minutes. Participants should expect to be walking or standing the entire tour. We might even meet a fisherman or two along the way!\nReserve your spot!\nFind out more at https://seagrant.oregonstate.edu/outreach-and-engagement/shop-dock\n\nWhat to expect: \n\nEach tour will last about 90 minutes. Participants should expect to be walking or standing the entire tour. Total walking distance will be approximately 1/2 mile.\nTours will start at 10 am and 1 pm.\nEach participant will receive a complimentary gift tote bag with informational resources and local seafood products.\n\nWhat to bring: \n\nDress for the weather.\nComfortable\, closed-toes shoes recommended.\n\nParking: \n\nThe Port of Garibaldi commercial docks along Mooring Dr has plenty of parking.\n\nQuestions and Accommodations: \nIf you have any questions or need disability accommodations\, please email dock.tours@oregonstate.edu at least one week in advance of your tour. \nWalk-ins accommodated as space allows on a first-come\, first-served basis.
