DESCRIPTION:Preschool storytime (PS) on Wed @ 10; developmentally appropriate for 3-5 yos; music\, stories\, interactive play and lots of laughs! In this class little begin to learn about a leader at the front of the room\, how to hold their wiggles\, listening and sitting still. When a child is transitioning from TT to PS my expectation is that they will sit for 5-10 minutes and then they might go play. I do not force them to sit still if they are not ready to. \nA couple of things about the children’s room that might set you at ease: \n\nThere is no expectation that it will be a quiet zone; kids are kids and they are allowed to act like themselves in the children’s room.\nOnly 2 hard and fast rules: No Running & No Screaming.\nIf your child needs a snack\, feed them!

We are excited to have Marine Biologist and Photographer Jim Young as our volunteer guide. Jim will lead the walk and provide information about interesting beach finds\, bay ecology\, and more along the way. SUMMARY:Tillamook American Association of University Women New Member Event
DESCRIPTION:Vision Statement: Equity for All. AAUW endeavors to advance gender equity for all\, on a national\, state\, and local level. Our Tillamook branch was started in 1938. We sponsor several scholarships each year\, enabling young women to study at Tillamook Bay Community College (TBCC) or 4-year colleges/universities throughout the country. We also sponsor a STEAM camp for junior high school students\, and STEM recognition awards in each high school in Tillamook County. AAUW also facilitates non-partisan candidate forums for local and state offices. Our regular monthly meetings often include interesting speakers from our local community who inspire women to achieve their goals. We also organize several book-clubs for our members. \n\nWe will have guest speakers talking about STEAM programs in Tillamook County and past scholarship recipients who will share their journeys and achievements. Hear about other programs that we provide in the community like our annual candidate forums.  Catered coffee and refreshments from Hygge Kitchen will be provided.  Come and hear from members about the lasting friendships they have made while making a difference in our local community.

SUMMARY:Trail Building in Nehalem Bay With LNCT!
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.
