SUMMARY:Trail Building in Nehalem Bay With LNCT!
DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.

SUMMARY:Netarts/Oceanside Earth Day Cleanup
DESCRIPTION:Celebrate Earth Month on Sunday\, April 26th with the Friends of Netarts Bay Watershed\, Estuary\, Beach\, and Sea (WEBS) by joining us in a beach cleanup from Cape Lookout State Park to Cape Meares and Bayocean Spit.  \nWinter brings an influx of marine debris\, with storms washing up harmful trash that poses a threat to wildlife and our unique coastal ecosystems. Springtime offers the perfect opportunity to unite as a community and restore our beaches. WEBS has been hosting cleanups for decades with SOLVE\, an environmental non-profit that supports volunteer-led environmental stewardship throughout Oregon. “Clean up the beach with friends or family\, or expand your community by teaming up with fellow volunteers. Volunteers of all ages will find the beach cleanup fun\, educational\, and rewarding\,” shares Marina Dreeben\, WEBS Stewardship Coordinator.  \nWe will meet at 4pm to clean up while the tide is low and wrap up our work as the sun starts setting at 6pm. Thanks to the amazing crew at The Schooner Restaurant and Lounge\, all volunteers will receive a coupon for 10% off dinner on the evening of the cleanup\, so be sure to stick around for a delicious\, locally-sourced meal while you enjoy the sunset after an afternoon of hard work. \nAs you head out to clean up or just explore\, it is important to remember that ocean shores can be dangerous. Avoid logs in the water\, keep your distance from marine mammals\, and never turn your back on the ocean! If you find any hazardous material\, please alert a staff member.  \nAdvanced registration saves time but is not required. To register and read more about this event visit http://www.netartsbaywebs.org/events  \nQuestions?  \nContact info@netartsbaywebs.org \nConsider donating:   \nFriends of Netarts Bay WEBS is committed to offering high-quality\, nature-based events led by experts\, while also reducing the financial barrier of outdoor recreation. We do this by offering our events and programs at no cost to participants.  \nYour donation helps in supporting the work of our organization. Every little bit helps!  All of our workshops\, classes\, and events are free. As a non-profit organization\, we rely on donations and grants to keep us going\, and growing.   \nIf you would like to donate\, please visit our website. \nStay social with Friends of Netarts Bay WEBS online @netartsbaywebs
