SUMMARY:SYMPHONY PRESENTS CONCERTS IN MARCH
DESCRIPTION:The North Oregon Coast Symphony continues its 2025-26 season with two concerts in March titled “Adventures in Sound.” The concerts are designed to appeal to children as well as adults\, and the program will begin with Serge Prokofiev’s “Peter and the Wolf”. This classic children’s tale set to music is perfect for introducing young people to the various orchestral instruments\, as each character in the story is represented by a musical “voice.” Local favorite Liz Cole\, an award-winning stage and TV actor\, will return as narrator. \nBefore the concert begins there will be an instrumental “petting zoo”\, an opportunity for children and their adults to play some of the orchestral instruments. \nThe program also features the rousing 1812 Overture by Tchaikovsky\, Holst’s Jupiter from The Planets\, Grieg’s In the Hall of the Mountain King\, and Glière’s Russian Sailor’s Dance. Cookies and refreshments will be available at both concerts during intermission. \nThe first concert will take place on Saturday\, March 14 at the Nehalem Elementary School Gym (36300 8th St.\, Nehalem\, OR) beginning at 3:00 pm. \nThe second concert will be on Sunday\, March 15\, at the Bob Chisholm Community Center (1225 Avenue A\, Seaside\, OR) at 3:00 pm. \nAdmission for both concerts will be: $10 Adults\, ages 18 and under FREE (children 12 and under with adult supervision).\nTickets will be available at the door only for these concerts. \nThis non-profit orchestra\, under the direction of conductor Cory Pederson\, brings together musicians from the north Oregon and south Washington coast to perform classical music for local audiences. SUMMARY:After the Fire Benefit Concert for Scott Casey & Cosmo Jones
DESCRIPTION:Some good friends experienced a huge fire at the end of January and lost all the contents of a building on their property\, which contained two recording studios\, a myriad of musical instruments\, stage equipment\, lights\, computers\, and their livelihoods. Moss Creek Studios\, Coastal AV\, and Crow Cane Studios were completely destroyed.\n\nA bunch of us who love them would really like to provide support to cover the cost of things insurance will not provide. All of the people involved are the kind of people who have helped everyone around them in multiple ways\, on multiple occasions. They are a big part of the heart of our community. Money won’t replace the lost treasures and memories\, but it can help lighten the pain of starting over. Suggested donation is $10 for this event\, plus we are raffling off a brand new Taylor Guitar to one lucky person!

The events highlight the work of Eduardo Cruz\, a self-taught mixed-media artist\, performer\, and the founder of Huehca Omeyocan\, the cultural group behind the “Ocean Celebration”.  \nTaking place on Friday\, February 6 and Saturday\, February 7\, the events offer two distinct ways to engage—through visual art and live performance. Attendees are welcome to join one or both events to celebrate Eduardo’s artwork\, experience cultural performance\, and learn more about the Ocean Celebration’s decade-long legacy as it approaches its 10th anniversary in 2026. \nOn Friday\, February 6\, Eduardo Cruz will be featured as February’s Artist of the Month during the Bay City Arts Center’s First Friday gallery opening.
