SUMMARY:Tillamook Anglers Association 37th Annual Fin Clipping Day
DESCRIPTION:The very popular “Fin Clip Day” will be held on Saturday April 25th from 9am to 2pm at the Whiskey Creek Volunteer Fish Hatchery located on Netarts bay. Over 300 people of all ages are expected to volunteer and help celebrate Tillamook Anglers’ 37th year of fin clipping our juvenile Spring Chinook Salmon. This annual event draws participants from all up and down the North Coast and from as far away as Astoria\, Multnomah and Salem. Approximately 110\,000 salmon will have their Adipose fin removed prior to release to the Trask River during this event. Coffee and doughnuts will be provided in the morning with a BBQ lunch at noon that is free for everyone. We can use anyone that shows up and volunteers for this event. Bring your whole family! It is a great experience!

DESCRIPTION:Every Friday\, volunteers gather on LNCT lands near Manzanita\, Nehalem and Wheeler to protect and restore habitat in the lower Nehalem watershed. We would love to see new faces out on the land!\n\n\n\nThese work parties are beginner friendly and an opportunity to learn about the engineering of hiking trails. We will be working on uneven ground\, bending\, and moving small rocks and brush during this process. Tools and gloves are provided\, new volunteers welcome and no prior experience needed. Join as frequently as you please.  Email shane@nehalemtrust.org for weekly updates on where to meet.\n\nAlder Creek Farm and Natural Area’s Nehalem Teaching Trail already supports an impressive variety of native plants and simulated ecosystems for community learning—but we’re looking to grow. This short trail will extend educational access into a different ecosystem and connect to the Natural Area’s pollinator meadow. We hope it will also add some variety to habitat access for bird watchers who visit the farm as a part of the Oregon Coast Birding Trail.

For the past year\, LNCT Stewardship Volunteers have been hard at work carving out a new hillside trail through Sorrel Woods at Alder Creek Farm. This series blends neuroscience\, psychology\, and lived experience to help you understand what grief actually is\, why it affects your brain and body the way it does\, and how to move through it with more compassion\, clarity\, and even joy. \nEach session includes mindfulness practice\, movement\, real conversation\, and tools you can use immediately. Come to one or come to all\, each session stands on its own. \nWeek 1 — What We Get Wrong About Grief \nUnpacking the myths (including the infamous 5 stages) and discovering what grief actually looks like. \nWeek 2 — Grief and the Brain \nWhy grief is so exhausting\, what’s happening neurologically\, and why your brain needs delight just as much as it needs to process. \nWeek 3 — Grief Is Everywhere \nGrief isn’t only about death.
