His parents retired and moved to Florida\, but that doesn’t mean his family isn’t still in Jersey. In fact\, he sees both sets of his grandparents every Sunday for dinner. This is the routine until he has to tell them he’s been offered his dream job as a marketing executive\, that will take him to another state. He tells them…and the news doesn’t sit so well. Thus begins a series of schemes to keep Nick around. How could he betray his family’s love to move to Seattle\, for a job\, wonder his grandparents? DESCRIPTION:With a career spanning nearly three decades\, the multiple Grammy Award-winning Pacifica Quartet has achieved international recogni tion as one of the finest chamber ensembles performing today. The Quartet is known for its virtuosity\, exuberant performance style\, and often-daring repertory choices. Having served as quartet-in-residence at Indiana University’s Jacobs School of Music for the past decade\, the Quartet also leads the Center for Advanced Quartet Studies at the Aspen Music Festival and School\, and was previously the quartet-in residence at the Metropolitan Museum of Art. In 2021\, the Pacifica Quartet received a second Grammy Award for Contemporary Voices\, an exploration of music by three Pulitzer Prize-winning composers: Shulamit Ran\, Jennifer Higdon\, and Ellen Taaffe Zwilich. \n​Formed in 1994\, the Pacifica Quartet quickly won chamber music’s top competitions\, including the 1998 Naumburg Chamber Music Award. In 2002 the ensemble was honored with Chamber Music America’s Cleveland Quartet Award and the appointment to Lincoln Center’s The Bowers Program (formerly CMS Two)\, and in 2006 was awarded a prestigious Avery Fisher Career Grant. With its powerful energy and captivating\, cohesive sound\, the Pacifica has established itself as the embodiment of the senior American quartet sound.

DESCRIPTION:  \nCannon Beach Chorus’s 2025 spring concert celebrates its 37th year of performing fine choral music.   The “Dancing Through Life” concert will be held at Nehalem Bay Methodist Church. \nThe program will include Dancing Through Life (from “Wicked”)\, Both Sides Now\, When I Am 64\, and many more family-friendly musical favorites. Several pieces feature chorus members as soloists.  Roy Sieber directs and Carson Schulte provides piano accompaniment. The chorus’s singers hail from Astoria to Oceanside. \nAn intermission with light refreshments will be offered. Join us in celebration of the 55th global day of action on behalf of our planet for a family friendly stewardship event. All ages are welcome! Tools & gloves will be provided (or welcome to bring your own) by co-hosts Lower Nehalem Community Trust and Trail Keepers of Oregon.\n\nPlease wear sturdy shoes and dress for variable coastal weather. Parking is adjacent to the park and surfaces are gravel\, wood chip and grass. This park is owned by the City of Manzanita and home to Elk\, roaming Cougar and other wildlife. It is stewarded by the Lower Nehalem Trust with the help of the community.\n\nDirections to Elk Meadows Park: Turn south off of Hwy. 101 onto Bayside Gardens Road. Dozens of interactive workshops from local and regional writing professionals\, screenwriting poetry\, self publishing and much more. \nApril 25\, 26\, 27 Ticket price is $25 \nFriday April 25th\, Open Mic Performance at Tie Breaker\, doors open at 6 p.m. \nSaturday April 26th Keynote & workshops at Rockaway Community Church Event Space from 9:00 am to 6:00 pm. Please note that we will not have the final schedule for all workshops until about two weeks prior to the event. There will be two large workshop spaces running concurrently\, we are doing our best to schedule them logically. We also may be using the Lion’s Club for a third space depending on demand. SUMMARY:2025 Spring Cannon Beach Chorus Concert in Tillamook
DESCRIPTION:Cannon Beach Chorus’s 2025 spring concert celebrates its 37th year of performing fine choral music.   The “Dancing Through Life” concert will be held at St Johns Church of Christ at 602 Laurel Avenue. \nThe program will include Dancing Through Life (from “Wicked”)\, Both Sides Now\, When I Am 64\, and many more family-friendly musical favorites. Several pieces feature chorus members as soloists.  Roy Sieber directs and Carson Schulte provides piano accompaniment. The chorus’s singers hail from Astoria to Oceanside. \nAn intermission with light refreshments will be offered. Donation tickets are sold at the door:  $15 adults\, children under 16 free.
