DESCRIPTION:WEBS is thrilled to present a creative afternoon of open-air painting with Washington-based artist Anna Norris. Join us at the stunning Cape Meares National Scenic Viewpoint and Lighthouse on Monday\, August 25th\, from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM. “Take advantage of the golden hour light and the sweeping ocean views—this is a perfect opportunity to practice your technique\, meet fellow artists\, and enjoy a relaxing\, creative evening by the sea”\, shared WEBS Director Chrissy Smith. \nWe are delighted to have Anna come and share her artistic perspectives on some of the Oregon Coast’s most dramatic landscapes.”I’ve always been interested in art. I was a non-stop doodler in grade school\, then on to pen and ink drawing. In college I was introduced to acrylic and oil paint and that was a game changer”\, shared Anna. She went on to say “the focus of my art is interplay of light\, shadow\, and shapes and my hope is that you can step into the piece and lose yourself”. Bring your inspiration and your supplies for this Plein Air event where artists of all experience levels can capture the dramatic coastal beauty of Oregon’s iconic landscape. \nAll participants are responsible for bringing their own art supplies. \nWhat to Bring: \n\neasels \n\n\ncanvases \n\n\nbrushes \n\n\npaints\n\n\nwater \n\n\nseating \n\nIt is recommended participants come fully prepared with everything they need to work comfortably outdoors. DESCRIPTION:Take a 2.5 hour guided sightseeing and birdwatching boat tour from Garibaldi to 3 Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge.  Join our experienced guide\, Tim Shelmerdine of Oregon Pelagic Tours\, and enjoy an educational trip aboard the 43′ vessel Alaska Sunrise.  On the boat ride down to the famous Three Arch Rocks National Wildlife Refuge (located just off the cost from Oceanside\, OR) you will experience the breathtaking views of the coastline from the other side of the beach! Keep a sharp eye out for harbor seals\, sea lions\, bald eagles\, puffins\, muirs\, cormorants\, gulls and the other abundant seashore wildlife native to the north coast. Be sure to bring a camera and binoculars if you have them\, and layered clothes as summer afternoons on the water can be breezy.  Vessel is Coast Guard Certified\, life jackets are provided\, and there is a bathroom onboard.  Passengers must be in general good health to participate.  Cost is $75/adult (12+)\, $60/child (ages 5-11).  Please call 503-322-0007 to sign up!
